Mother Bar and Jack the Ripper

After a successful week of work, last night and this weekend are in full EUSA gear. Thursday night we found our way to our EUSA sponsored cultural event by The Tower of London. It was a tour of east London, where the infamous "Jack the Ripper" did most of his killings. Our tour guide was terribly awkward and couldn’t make eye contact (not a good quality in a tour guide) and she would emphasize the wrong things. For example, she would say things like “and this is where Jack the Ripper killed and left Kathryn Edows…SHE HAD LONG LONG HAIR.” It was kind of bizarre. Besides our tour guide, the actual tour was very interesting, and it was cool to see an area of town we probably would have not seen otherwise. After our tour we got ready, and went to a bar called “Mother.” After staying at “Mother” entirely too late, we headed back to Nido.

This morning we had our second professional development course. Today’s topic was intercultural business. The guy leading these seminars looks like he is straight out of an infomercial. He keeps us moderately entertained for the three hung-over hours we sit there.

We finally were able to ball up and meet some other people who are from the EUSA program. They are from Alabama and we plan on meeting them out tonight!

A EUSA planned trip to Oxford is on the agenda tomorrow. I will keep you posted!

Cheers!

P.S. More pictures in the "I see London". New pictures start at number 49.
